JOB TITLE: General Manager, Manufacturing Operations

POSITION REPORTS TO: Chief Operating Officer

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The General Manager, Manufacturing Operations will oversee the creation, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of business and manufacturing processes and methods. The role will focus on improving and optimizing existing processes, and implementing and ensuring capability of the new ones to drive reliability, predictability and efficiency in manufacturing operations. This person will be sensitive to current business culture, and successfully manage change in the manufacturing organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Meet/exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Quality, Safety, On-Time Delivery (OTD) and Cost objectives
• Assume primary responsibility for quality and compliance by adhering to all Quality Management Systems (QMS) documentation requirements
• Collaborate with engineering, safety quality, purchasing, marketing, sales and other cross functional teams to develop company-wide best-in-class product and service solutions
• Oversee all manufacturing projects, plans, strategies, and priorities, including production needs, schedules, resources, etc., and ensure production meets the required deadlines, quality standards and within budget
• Drive continuous improvement efforts through data and systematic processes
• Maximize work center capacities through optimization of shop floor scheduling and throughput monitoring
• Manage the budgeting processes and hold P&L responsibilities for manufacturing operations
• Analyze market demand, plant capacity & capability to plan and assess future investments
• Devise a strategy to improve and optimize our manufacturing processes and technology, and production planning and scheduling through automation. Develop a plan to deliver this strategy. Execute the plan and report progress while supporting ongoing production and current business deliverables.
• Lead in the development of a problem-solving culture; integrate Lean thinking into the
culture and organization.
• Lead continuous improvement projects and execution of capital projects
• Analyze financial statements and other performance data to measure productivity and
goal achievement and to identify areas requiring cost reduction and program
improvement.
• Strive to meet and exceed budgeted production and financial goals.
• Review production levels for on-time delivery and past due orders.
• Build, train and mentor the facility management team and ensure that all employees are
fully trained in all aspects of their roles
• Provide regular performance updates to senior leadership
• Motivate, outline and delegate methods to surpass all company goals
• Perform other tasks as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Degree in science or engineering discipline required; MBA or Master’s degree in a
related field preferred.
• Five years of progressively responsible management experience in manufacturing
• Demonstrated success in operational excellence
• Demonstrated, hands-on experience with manufacturing automation technology (i.e.
CNC lathes/mills, machine tending robotics, robotic polishing/grinding, automated
packing, etc) required
• Strong hands-on experience with ERP, MRP, and Production Scheduling software
• Strong understanding and knowledge of ISO 13485:2016 and medical device regulations
in US, EU, Canada
• Hands-on, demonstrated experience with data analysis and data tools
• Lean manufacturing experience with exposure to Six Sigma, green or black belt
certification preferred
• Comprehensive knowledge through experience of P&L, cost reduction programs, capital
and operations budgeting, product portfolio management.

• Ability to motivate and support others in a fast paced environment
