JOB TITLE: Manager, Clinical Affairs
POSITION REPORTS TO: EVP Business Development and Strategy
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Manager, Clinical Affairs, is responsible for leading and expanding Premier Dental’s global Key Opinion Leader (KOL) and thought leader network. This position plays a critical role in connecting science, clinical validation, education, and market adoption by integrating clinician insight throughout the product lifecycle. The role partners cross-functionally with Marketing, R&D, Product Management, and Sales to ensure that Premier’s innovations are clinically supported, validated, and communicated with credibility.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Build, lead, and refine a global KOL and clinical advocate network aligned with Premier’s strategic priorities and product roadmap.
• Identify, evaluate, and engage top-tier clinicians and educators across specialties, geographies, and practice types.
• Develop structured tiers of engagement (advisory board members, evaluators, speakers, social advocates) to maximize reach and impact.
• Design and manage an annual KOL plan with clear KPIs to measure engagement, content generation, and influence.
• Serve as the primary internal advocate for KOL relationships, ensuring alignment across Clinical Affairs, R&D, Marketing, and Sales.
Clinical Collaboration & Product Development
• Partner with R&D and Product Management to integrate clinician insight throughout the product lifecycle, from ideation to post-market feedback.
• Oversee clinical evaluation programs to generate performance data, case reports, and testimonials that support regulatory and marketing needs.
• Facilitate structured feedback loops between clinicians and internal teams to drive innovation and product quality.
Clinical Education & Thought Leadership
• Lead the development of live and virtual clinical education initiatives in partnership with KOLs and Premier’s internal education team.
• Prepare and support KOLs for podium presentations, media appearances, and professional events to ensure consistent brand and message alignment.
• Collaborate with editorial and marketing teams to create scientific articles, white papers, and multimedia educational content.
• Oversee development and distribution of training materials, course content, and speaker decks.
Commercialization & Brand Advocacy
• Activate KOLs as clinical ambassadors during product launches, ensuring strong clinical presence, credibility, and advocacy.
• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to integrate KOL content and testimonials into campaigns, events, and sales enablement tools.
• Support regional and international teams to ensure consistent global activation of KOL programs.
• Partner with associations, media outlets, and educational platforms to expand Premier’s professional presence.
Operational Excellence
• Oversee all operational aspects of KOL management, including contracting, compliance, budgeting, and reporting.
• Develop and manage the annual Clinical Affairs budget and forecast.
• Maintain accurate, dynamic records of KOL interactions, deliverables, and outputs in Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and ethical standards for all clinical and educational activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Clinical Affairs, Professional Education, or KOL Management within the dental or medical device industry.
• Demonstrated success recruiting and managing high-level clinicians and thought leaders globally.
• Experience collaborating with product development, marketing, and sales teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of dental procedures, materials, and market dynamics.
